I continue to be delighted by great reviews for Meditation for Two, my book with Mestre Dominique Barbier. Here is the link for one from Patty Lasko, Editor of Dressage Today: http://broadcaster.aimmedia.com/dm?id=7BE80CE7103D774A158CFCBAFC4638F1
And we also received a wonderful notice in the USDF Connections Newsletter:
A LOVE LETTER TO THE HORSE….Sometimes we get consumed by the extrinsics of riding — this aid, that aid, this competition, that award. We lose sight of why we fell in love with horses and dresssage in the first place. In a pretty little book they call Meditation for Two: Searching for and Finding Communion with Your Horse (Trafalgar Square, 72 pp., $24.95), French-born classical master Dominique Barbier (Dressage for the New Age) and photographer Keron Psillas bring us poetry and flowers and flowing manes and Iberian horses in stunning seascapes. Musings on the nature of horses and horsemanship. Even a training tidbit here and there. Meditation for Two begs to be given as a gift or to be enjoyed in a quiet moment in your favorite sun-splashed nook.
It is so gratifying to know that people are enjoying the book. And it has really ignited a fire in me to get the next book underway! Stay tuned for that news. You can click on the link above in the site header (Meditation for Two) to order the book from me. Thank you!
I saw your post on Vision and Verh and followed your link to your blog. WOW, I am SO happy that I did! I have been a follower of Dominique Barbier for a long time now. I read Dressage for a New Age and loved it. I used to live in Southern California but have moved to Kansas and have lost touch with the dressage community. I had no idea that Mr. Barbier had written a new book. And then I find your photographs as well and it was just the icing on the cake. Your work with natural lighting is STUNNING!!! That is one of my goals as an amatuer is to be able to get so comfortable with my camera and its settings so that I can use the light surrounding my subject without struggle. I loved your post at Vision and Verb and I love your photography on this site even more. Thank you for sharing your art!
Elaine! Thank you so much for reading and taking the time to leave such a beautiful comment. The project with Dominique has been a long collaboration…we’ve been close friends now for more than 20 years. We’re both very happy with the final product. You have to click on his website and blog! Come to a symposium, or go to a clinic somewhere. We’re all just back from Brasil where we filmed an episode for Tribuna Lusitana, The Masters Series….and we were riding and looking for horses too! It was super. I have the dream job every couple of months or so to be in Brasil or Portugal and photograph these lovely lovely animals. : ) Don’t hesitate to email photography questions….and don’t be afraid to put your camera on aperture priority….let the camera choose the exposure and just go for it! Thanks again for writing…please share with your horsey and photo friends? All the best, Keron
If i am leaving double comments here, I appologize. I am not sure if your server got my first comment or not. Without re writing everything, I just wanted to let you know that I am another fan of Dominque Barbier and was so excited to see he has a new book out. I just ordered it through your website and can’t wait to read it. I am also a fan of your beautiful photography! Working with natural light is something I aspire to be able to improve on in my own amatuer photography! Thank you for sharing your art with us!
